Each week, there is an opt in for an elimination style tournament. It starts at a set time. You have 30 mins to warm up, then the brackets begin.
1v1, best of 3 to move on until one person is crowned king.
If you are knocked out, you have the option to spectate the next fights with other players. Leading to a fun spectator event by the end.
Why is this a good idea?
  • builds community. Chat and cheer people on like a genuine e-sport.
  • helps low player count by bringing the community together at a specific time
  • creates replay value and habit to retain player base.
  • there is a proven audience that likes watching high rank matches.
I live is Australia were the player count can be dismal. But by rallying people together at a certain time, I believe it would build out the community.
You could do multiple a week, have ping caps and region/timezone specifc comps.
